Obituary
Michael Krubsack was born September 20, 1862 in the Town of Lebanon, Dodge County, Wisconsin. There he spent his childhood days and attended the public and the Lutheran parochial school. Later he went north to the Gogebic Iron Range in the 1880's and worked as a millwright in the sawmills for the Oliver Mining Company. After he was married to Elizabeth Gutekunst on July 27, 1893, he lived in Bessemer, Michigan. From 1905 to 1910, they lived in Hurley, Wisconsin. As a supplement to farming, he began bee-keeping soon after he came to Pine River. He was one of Lincoln County's most eminent bee-keepers (apiarist). He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church at Pine River, Wisconsin. He was the father of five boys and six girls, however, two boys died in infancy.

At the age of eighty-one, Mr. Krubsack was resurfacing the floor of a room in his home; while sharpening a scraper, he became entangled in a power emery grinder which severly injured his arm. He was taken to Holy Cross hospital, where the surgeons decided that amputation was necessary. However, the result of the accident was that he died June 16, 1944. The Rev. Harold Krenz officiated at the funeral service, and he was buried in the church cemetery.
